2010 WKC Canadian Championships

This year’s WKC Canadian Championships were a great success. However you wish to measure the event, the results were outstanding. In terms of numbers, the event saw more competitors from across Canada than in previous years. It was a true “Canadian Championships” with a large number of competitors from British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba and the East Coast.

The competition, as always, was of the highest caliber, and started on Friday, May 21st with the first round of forms and weapons.  Saturday, May 22nd continued with the second round of forms and weapons, as well as the first round of sparring.  Sunday, May 23rd all our finalists were there to give their all and take the gold medal, not to mention earning themselves a spot on the Canadian National Team.  We can expect to see great things from this year’s National Team!

Thank you to all the volunteers and officials who helped to make the 2010 Canadian Nationals a success.  We could not do it without you!  

This year, the World Championship will be held in Albufeira, Portugal from October 26- to November 2.  Good luck to all Team Canada members!
